The Rivière Nicolet Sud-Ouest is a left tributary of the Rivière Nicolet in the Center-du-Québec and Estrie administrative regions of the Canadian province of Québec .
The Rivière Nicolet Sud-Ouest rises 25 km east of Asbestos . It flows in a west-north-westerly direction north past Asbestos. Other places along the river are Kingsey Falls , Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Conseil , Sainte-Brigitte-des-Saults and La Visitation-de-Yamaska . On the eastern outskirts of Nicolet , the Rivière Nicolet Sud-Ouest joins the Rivière Nicolet, just 5 km before it joins the St. Lawrence River . The Rivière Nicolet Sud-Ouest has a length of about 150 km. The catchment area extends over approximately 1560 km². The mean discharge is 23 m³ / s.
Algonquin Power Fund operates a run-of-river power plant with an output of 4.5 MW near Sainte-Brigitte-des-Saults.
