The Robbe & Berking Yachting Heritage Center is a privately financed museum on the worldwide yachting history at the industrial port in Flensburg - Fruerlund , which was inaugurated on October 1st, 2016. The initiator and patron of the museum, Oliver Berking , is the owner of the traditional silver manufacturer Robbe & Berking , and he has also been running a shipyard for classic wooden yachts in the immediate vicinity since 2008.

The aim of the facility is to preserve the tradition of classic yacht sailing and to make the history and beauty of classic yachts , especially those made of wood, accessible to the wider public. Up to four changing exhibitions on topics of water sports and yachting history take place in the building every year. The Yachting Heritage Center houses the largest yachting library in the world with a total of around 8500 volumes. The core of the library is the Christmann Collection with its internationally important collection of antiquarian yachting literature. It took the Wiesbaden collector Volker Christmann 25 years to collect these treasures before he sold them completely to Oliver Berking. All volumes in the library are also digitally recorded, making the Yachting Heritage Center an important source of information for sailing enthusiasts who are interested in the history of certain types of boats or individual ships. Two galleries, a museum shop and a large restaurant with a view of the harbor complete the ensemble.

The 1,500 square meter building complex was designed by the Flensburg architect Gunnar Carlsson and takes on the industrial charm of its harbor area.
