Robbins Island is an island in the southwestern part of the Joubin Islands in the West Antarctic Palmer Archipelago . It is located off the southwest coast of Anvers Island .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1975 after Stephen H. Robbins Jr., Able Seaman on the National Science Foundation's RV Hero on their Antarctic voyage to Palmer Station in 1968.
