Robert Austin Markus

Robert Austin Markus (born October 8, 1924 in Budapest , † December 8, 2010 in Nottingham ) was a Hungarian patristic .

Life

He earned MA (1948) and PhD (1950) from Manchester . He taught in Liverpool ( Lecturer , Senior Lecturer and Reader ). From 1974 to 1982 he held the Chair of Medieval History at the University of Nottingham . In 1985 he was elected a member ( Fellow ) of the British Academy . In 2000 he became Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
