Robert Barney Baker (born May 18, 1930 , † November 17, 1995 ) was an American trade unionist, liaison to La Cosa Nostra , bodyguard and contract killer.

biography

The 185-kilogram former boxer worked in the port of New York City and was involved in gambling activities of Cosa Nostra, before the bodyguard of Jimmy Hoffa was. Barney Baker soon became a special friend of his boss and organized for him in 1957 together with his childhood friend Dave Yaras and Rolland McMaster the union branch of the Teamsters "Local 320" in Miami . The mobster Santo Trafficante then moved into an office in the new branch , which in turn worked for the CIA on the coup in Cuba.
