Robert Herrera , full name Robert Fabián Herrera Rosas , (born March 1, 1989 in Río Branco ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

The 1.85 meter tall defensive player Herrera, who is sometimes also referred to as Fabián Herrera, played for the Melo Wanderers before starting his professional career. He has been in the squad of the Uruguayan first division club Defensor since at least the Clausura 2009 . In the seasons 2009/10 up to and including 2012/13 he completed 59 games in the Primera División and scored two goals. There are also five games (no goal) in the Liguilla Pre Libertadores 2009 . These figures include 22 games in the 2009/10 season. For this season, however, other sources show only 17 league appearances. In the 2013/14 season he was used in twelve other league games (no goal). In addition, he has played in a total of 19 games of the Copa Libertadores since 2009 (no goal). At the Copa Libertadores 2014 he reached the semifinals with Defensor. In the 2014/15 season he played 23 top division games (no goal). In June 2015 he moved to the Mexican club Puebla FC . For the Mexicans he has so far (as of September 9, 2016) played 36 first division games (one goal), one encounter (no goal) in the Copa México and two games (no goal) in the Copa Libertadores 2016 .

National team

Herrera was part of the Uruguayan U-20 selection at the 2009 U-20 South American Championship in Venezuela . There he played seven international matches. He also took part with Uruguay in the 2009 U-20 World Cup in Egypt . In the course of the World Cup tournament he was used once in a group game against Ghana. Herrera was also part of the U-23 squad set up by national coach Óscar Tabárez in the run-up to the 2012 Summer Olympics .
