Robert Houston
Robert Houston (born November 30, 1955 in California ; occasionally Bobby Houston ) is an American film actor , film director and documentary filmmaker .
Life
Robert Houston studied at Harvard . He had his first appearance as Bobby in the movie Hill of Bloody Eyes . He was allowed to play the role again in the sequel In Death Valley of the Wolves . In 1980 he made his directorial debut Shogun Assassin , a remake of Okami - Am Totenfluss (1972). Relatively undervalued at the time and indexed in Germany , the film found its way into hip-hop culture , where it was mainly used by the Wu-Tang Clan .
It was followed by the comedies gang of pigs! (1984) and Trust Me (1989) as well as the action thriller Jail Force . After doing some work for Playboy , he began working as a documentary filmmaker after his partner died of AIDS . His first documentary, Rock the Boat , was about the immunodeficiency disease. The film ran very successfully on HBO . In this he also worked with Robert Hudson as in the following documentaries .
Houston received an Emmy for the documentary Mighty Times: The Legacy of Rosa Parks (2002) and an Oscar for Mighty Times: The Children's March (2004).
