Heinrich Robert Andreas Knopf (born August 4, 1862 in Heimburg , † after 1925) was a German Lutheran clergyman and publicist.

Life

Knopf attended high school in Blankenburg (Harz) from 1874 to 1884 and then studied theology in Erlangen and later at the University of Leipzig . During his studies in 1884 he became a member of the Germania Erlangen fraternity . In July 1887 he passed the tentamen. He then worked as a private tutor in Braunschweig , as a vicar at the preacher's school and the proselyte asylum in Groß Ingersheim in Württemberg and as a preacher in Herzfelde (Uckermark) and Silesia. After the main examination (December 1889) he was accepted as a collegiate in the Wolfenbüttel seminary, ordained on January 12, 1890 and introduced as pastor of Vorwohle in April of that year . On August 1, 1897, he became the clergyman of the Evangelical Association for Inner Mission in Braunschweig. There he was both prison chaplain and chairman of the rescue house board. On March 26, 1905 he became a pastor in Bevern .

In addition to his pastoral work, Knopf has been the publisher of the Braunschweigische Volksblatt since 1898 and of the church community sheet Heimatglocke from 1906 onwards .

Later he was superintendent and school inspector in Holzminden .
