Robert L. Hoyt

Robert L. Hoyt (born before 1955) is an American sound engineer .

Life

Hoyt worked mid-1950s, first as an engineer, but his career did not begin until the early 1970s with the Clint Eastwood - thriller Play Misty . This was followed by Hollywood - blockbusters such giants in the sky and the Order of the Dragon . He first worked with Steven Spielberg at Sugarland Express in 1974 . For the next Spielberg film, The Jaws , made the following year , Hoyt was awarded an Oscar in the category of best sound together with Roger Heman Jr. , Earl Madery and John R. Carter in 1976 . He was nominated for a Primetime Emmy in 1971 for his television work . Hoyt retired from the film business after the comedy film A Bird on a Wire .
