Robert Lindig

Robert Lindig (born September 29, 1894 in Tettau , † March 26, 1972 in Mitterteich ) was a German SPD politician .

Lindig attended elementary school and trained as a model fitter. In the First World War he was used as a soldier. In 1925, professional reasons led him to move to Mitterteich, where he worked as a model maker and pourer.

During his apprenticeship, Lindig joined the trade union and the Socialist Workers' Youth , through which he came to the SPD in 1913. In 1933 he was briefly appointed to the city council of Mitterteich, and after the Second World War he was given another mandate. In 1948 he was elected second mayor. A year later, after the sudden death of Mayor Josef Siller, he was elected as his successor. In 1950 Lindig also received a mandate in the Bavarian state parliament . He belonged to this until 1966, he was always elected via the constituency list of Upper Palatinate . At times he was also chairman of the SPD local branch in Mitterteich. At the end of 1969 he resigned from his mayor's office, in which he was re-elected four times, for health reasons.
