Charles Robert Müller (* 29. November 1868 in Lengenfeld (Vogtland) ; † 2. January 1948 in Grimma ) was a social democratic politician, Saxon Landtag and Amtshauptmann the Office Bezirkshauptmannschaften Zwickau and Chemnitz .

Life

After attending the elementary and trade school and an apprenticeship as a book printer , Müller went on tour in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. From November 1893 he worked in his profession at the social democratic party printing company in Zwickau . In addition, he was honorary chairman of the Zwickau branch of the brewery workers' association from 1896 to 1905. From 1904 to 1917 he worked as an editor for the Saxon Volksblatt in Zwickau and was also a city councilor there from 1912 to 1924. From 1918 to 1923 he was managing director of the Zwickau branch of the German Railway Association.

In the SPD, Müller was chairman of the Social Democratic Association for the 18th Reichstag constituency from 1900, from 1907 to 1912 chairman of the SPD district committee in Zwickau and from 1912 to 1923 chairman of the SPD in the city of Zwickau.

From 1909 to 1918 Müller represented the 40th rural constituency in the Second Chamber of the Saxon State Parliament . In 1919/20 he was a member of the Saxon People's Chamber and there secretary (secretary) of the SPD parliamentary group.

From November 1923 to 1932 Müller was the governor of the Zwickau governor and from 1932 to 1933 governor in Chemnitz. After the " seizure of power " by the NSDAP , he was first put into temporary retirement and then dismissed. Nothing is known about his life after 1933.
