Robert Motherby (politician)

Robert Motherby (born April 4, 1808 in Königsberg , † April 17, 1861 in Arnsberg , district of Preussisch Eylau ) was a German doctor, landowner and parliamentarian.

Life

Robert Motherby was born as the son of the East Prussian doctor and farmer William Motherby and Johanna geb. Tillheim (1783-1842). His grandfather was the merchant Robert Motherby , who immigrated to Königsberg from England and a friend of Immanuel Kant . From 1827 to 1831 he studied medicine at the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlin and the Albertus University in Königsberg . In 1829 he became a member of the Littuania Corpsland Team . In 1931 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. He then became a doctor in Königsberg. He later took over his father's estate in Arnsberg , in the Preussisch Eylau district . On August 8, 1837, Robert Motherby married Elisabeth Ritzhaupt, who was born in Mannheim (April 1, 1820, † April 25, 1897 in Königsberg).

Motherby sat in the first legislative period in 1849 as a member of the constituency of Königsberg 5 in the Prussian House of Representatives . He belonged to the faction of the left.
