Robert Obrist

Robert Obrist (born February 27, 1958 ) is a Swiss politician ( Greens ). He has been a member of the Aargau Grand Council since January 7, 2014 .

education and profession

Obrist graduated from ETH Zurich in 1984 as an agronomist (Dipl. Ing. Agr.) Specializing in crop production . Then he worked for the canton of Aargau . From 1986 he was head of the specialist department for environmentally friendly crop production in the canton of Solothurn . In 1989 he took over the management of the cantonal central office for plant protection in the canton of Aargau. From 1994 he was head of the Aargau specialist agency for organic farming . From 2000 to 2009 Robert Obrist cultivated 1.4 hectares of vines as a sideline in accordance with Bio Suisse guidelines and worked part-time at the Research Institute for Organic Agriculture (FiBL) in Frick . Since 2008 he has been head of the Consulting and Education department there. For a few years he was the tenant of the vineyard at Wildegg Castle , where he produced white wines such as Solaris , but also Pinot Noir .

Political career

In 2014 Robert Obrist replaced the resigned Councilor Christoph Brun for the Brugg district . Obrist has been a member of the Task Planning and Finance Commission since 2014 and has also been a member of the Audit Commission since 2016. From 2014 to 2015 Obrist was also a deputy in the Commission for Economics and Taxes. In 2015 Robert Obrist was elected as a delegate of Green Switzerland . He has been President of the Brugg Green District since 2016. In the same year Obrist ran for the Green Aargau for the seat of Susanne Hochuli in the Aargau government council. He received 32,946 votes in the first ballot and failed to make the election.

Club activity

Obrist has been the managing president of the Schenkenbergertal workshop development association since 1999 . In addition, since 2011 he has been a member of the Jura-Ost regional conference and chairman of its specialist group for socio-economic-ecological impact studies. He is a member of the patronage committee of the nature center at the Klingnauer reservoir . From 1993 to 2007 he was president of the Schinznach wine cooperative.

Private

Robert Obrist lives in Schinznach Dorf and has a grown daughter.
