Robert Pütz (administrative lawyer)

Robert Pütz (born May 3, 1895 in Düren ; † October 25, 1981 in southern France) was the first senior city director of Düren from 1946 to 1948 .

Pütz studied law and received his doctorate in 1921. In his hometown, he became head of the Düren district court .

According to the new municipal code, from 1946 all municipalities with more than 10,000 inhabitants had to have a full-time city ​​/ municipality director . Fifty people had applied for this office, five of whom were shortlisted. No applicant met the necessary requirements. Therefore, Mayor Ernst Hammans asked the district court councilor to submit his application . Pütz was then unanimously elected city director on June 8, 1946. He took office three days later. Seven days after taking office, Pütz was appointed senior city director by order of the military government . His term of office ended on August 18, 1948.

His nickname was Pötze Schlepp . Pütz's successor was Hans Brückmann .

Honor

In the Düren district of Hoven , Dr.-Robert-Pütz-Strasse was named after him.
