Robert Schneider (* 1976 in Leipzig ) is a German journalist, former editor-in-chief of the Burda magazines Superillu and Guter Rat and since March 1, 2016 editor-in-chief of the news magazine Focus .

Life

Schneider graduated from high school and decided to become a journalist. He started at the Bild newspaper in Leipzig and was able to gain a foothold there quickly without studying. After a traineeship in Cologne, he worked in the newspaper editorial department of the Axel Springer publishing house , became department head at the age of 23, and later deputy editor-in-chief of the Berlin daily BZ and the weekly Bild am Sonntag .

From April 2011 he was editor-in-chief of the magazine Superillu, which has its readers mainly in the federal states of the former GDR . He replaced Jochen Wolff there. On April 1, 2014, he also became editor-in-chief of the consumer magazine Guter Rat , published by the same publisher . Since March 1, 2016 he has been editor-in-chief of Focus .

Schneider was married twice and has one son.
