Robert Sigurðsson (born October 18, 1993 in Mars , Pennsylvania ) is an American - Icelandic ice hockey player who has been playing for UMFK Esja in the Icelandic ice hockey league since 2017 .

Career

Robert Sigurðsson, who was born in the United States to Icelandic immigrants, began his career on the Mars Area High School crew in his hometown. In the 2010/11 season he also played for the team of the Pittsburgh Viper Stars in the junior league NAPHL. After spending the 2011/12 season in Iceland at Skautafélag Reykjavíkur , he returned to the United States, where he played for the Three Rivers Vengeance in the NA3HL and the Bay State Breakers in the USPHL. Since 2014 he has been playing in the land of his forefathers again. First he worked again at Skautafélag Reykjavíkur before moving to reigning champion UMFK Esja in 2017 .

International

Robert Sigurðsson played for the Icelandic national team for the first time at the 2016 World Cup in Division II. He also played in Division II in 2017 and 2018 .
