Robert Taube

Robert Taube (born March 15, 1880 in Riga , † August 18, 1964 in Berlin ) was a German theater and film actor .

Life

Robert Taube, who completed his acting training in Berlin, made his debut in Offenburg in 1903 . After engagements in Rottweil , Reval , Riga, Lübeck , Elberfeld , Cologne and Hanover , he was committed to the Städtische Bühnen Frankfurt in 1917 , where he played with an interruption until 1939. In the world premiere of Urfaust without a backdrop he played Mephisto , at the Römerberg Festival in 1932 he played Alba in Goethe's Egmont and in 1934 he impressed as Wallenstein . From 1939 Taube appeared at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin.

In addition, Robert Taube took part in the first silent films in the 1920s, and later in sound and television films .
