Robert Zandvliet (* 1970 in Terband , Heerenveen , Province of Friesland ) is a Dutch painter.

biography

From 1987 to 1992 Zandvliet studied at the Christian Academy of Fine Arts in Kampen (later ArtEZ Art & Design Zwolle) and from 1992 to 1994 at De Ateliers in Amsterdam . He won the Prix ​​de Rome in 1994 .

In the mid-1990s, Zandvliet dealt with the depiction of everyday objects such as hairpins, television screens and cameras. From 1996 he concentrated on painting landscapes. His landscapes are abstract and often have no horizon. Zandvliet mainly paints with egg tempera , based on the old Italian frescoes , which are also painted with egg tempera.
