Robert von Reitzenstein

Baron Alexander Gustav Otto Robert von Reitzenstein (born August 28, 1821 in Ehrenbreitstein , † June 6, 1902 in Recklinghausen ) was a lawyer and Prussian district administrator for the Recklinghausen district .

Life

Robert von Reitzenstein came from the Blankenberg-Sparrenberg line of the Reitzenstein family . He was the son of the Prussian Colonel Ludwig von Reitzenstein. His father died on March 8, 1868 in Wesel. After attending school in Koblenz and Wesel he studied in Bonn and Berlin law . In 1841 he became a member of the Corps Palatia in Bonn . He then worked as a trainee lawyer. In 1848 Reitzenstein represented the sick district administrator of Recklinghausen, Friedrich Carl Devens . In 1849 he was appointed provisional district administrator and finally in 1850 district administrator. On September 2, 1882, he was character awarded as Privy Councilor. In 1893 he left office after 45 years of service. He had been married to Maria Susanna Lobeck (October 30, 1819 - December 17, 1895) since 1855. She was the daughter of the city councilor August Lobeck and Josepha Kindermann. It was unusual for the time that he married a Catholic woman as a Protestant.
