Roberto D'Aversa (born August 12, 1975 in Stuttgart , Germany ) is a former Italian football player and current coach .

Career

As a player

Roberto D'Aversa played in his youth in the youth teams of the Italian first division club and traditional club AC Milan . Since he did not make the leap into the professional squad there, however, he left the club. He then played for some second division and third division clubs before moving to the first division promoted AC Siena for the 2003/04 season. Together they managed to keep the class for three years before D'Aversa moved to the later relegated ACR Messina during the winter break of 2006/07 . Until the summer of 2010 he played in Serie B for four other clubs. Then he moved to SS Virtus Lanciano in the third highest division, the Lega Pro Prima Divisione Girone B, where he was a regular player despite his old age. In 2012 he achieved promotion to Serie B with the club.

As a trainer

For the 2014/15 season, D'Aversa took over the coaching position at Virtus Lanciano , in 2016 he became head coach of Parma Calcio . At the end of August 2020, the contract between D'Aversa and Parma was terminated.

In his first season (2016/17) he went with the team to the Serie B at, 2018 in the Serie A where in season 2018/19 the home side's relegation.
