Robin Roberts

Robin Roberts (born November 23, 1960 in Alabama ) is an American journalist and news anchor .

Life

In her childhood she grew up in Pass Christian , Mississippi , where she attended Pass Christian High School. Roberts studied communication science at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond , Louisiana . After graduating, she worked as a radio reporter for the television station WDAM-TV in Hattiesburg , Mississippi in 1983 and then switched to the television station WSMV-TV in Nashville , Tennessee in 1984 . From 1988 to 1990 she worked for the television station WAGA-TV in Atlanta , Georgia . From 1990 to 2005 she worked as a sports reporter for the television channel ESPN . Since 2005 she has worked as a newscaster for the US news program Good Morning America . She lives in New York City with her partner Amber Laign .
