Rockin 'into the Night is the third studio album by the southern rock band 38 Special , released in January 1980. The title track Rockin' into the Night became the band's first big hit. It reached number 43 on the Billboard Hot 100 . The album itself peaked at number 57 on the Billboard 200 .

On Allmusic , Mike DeGagne wrote that with Rockin 'into the Night , 38 Special discovered how to combine Southern Rock with a formula that brought the band commercial attention. The songs have more "steam" than on previous releases by the band.
