The rock Pepper Bay (in Argentina Ensenada Güemes ) is a 5.5 km wide bay on the north coast of Joinville Island off the northern tip of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located immediately east of Boreal Point .
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out surveys between 1953 and 1954. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1957 after the numerous very small islands, cliffs and reef rocks within the bay. The namesake of the Argentine name is Martín Miguel de Güemes (1785-1820), general in the Argentine War of Independence (1810-1818).
