Rocky Bushiri Kisonga (born November 30, 1999 ) is a Belgian football player with Congolese roots. He is loaned to the Belgian club KV Mechelen in the 2020/21 season.
Career
society
Rocky Kisonga, a trained central defender, started playing football at VC Eendracht Mazenzele in Opwijk in the province of Flemish Brabant . Via Wolvertem SC he switched to the offspring of KV Ostend . On December 9, 2017, Bushiri made his debut in the Belgian first division as an 18-year-old in a 0-1 home game on matchday 18 against KV Mechelen . This season he was used irregularly. In August 2018 Rocky Bushiri was awarded to KAS Eupen , where he has a regular place in central defense. Instead of returning to Ostend, he joined the newly promoted Norwich City in the Premier League in early July 2019 . A few weeks later, Bushiri was awarded to Blackpool FC , where he only came to four point games. After half a year the loan contract was canceled and Rocky Bushiri was awarded to VV St. Truiden in his native country . In the remainder of the 2019/21 season until it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic , Bushiri played seven out of eight possible games for St. Truiden. He only had to pause in one game due to a suspension after a yellow-red card.
At the end of the season he initially returned to Norwich. A new loan to Belgium was then agreed for the 2020/21 season, this time to league competitor KV Mechelen .
National team
Rocky Bushiri played two games for the Belgian U19 national team . On October 11, 2018, he played for the U21 team for the first time in a 1-0 win in the test match in Reggio Emilia against Italy .
