Rodolfo Stroeter

Rodolfo Stroeter (born November 17, 1958 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian bassist and composer.

Stroeter began his musical career in 1979 as a partner of the German pianist Felix Wagner and the drummer Azael Rodrigues and recorded his first album in 1980 with the group Divina Increnca . At the same time he founded the group Pau Brasil with Nelson Ayres , for which he worked as an instrumentalist, composer and producer. Since 1982 Lelo Nazário and Zé Eduardo Nazário belonged to the band with which the albums Reflexões sobre a crise do desejo and A flor de plástico incinerada were created.

In 1985, Stroeter's first album was the LP Mundo with his own compositions. Stroeter also worked with musicians such as Milton Nascimento , Edu Lobo , Chico Buarque , Wagner Tiso , Gilberto Gil , Carlinhos Brown and Marlui Miranda during this time . In 1990 the collaboration with the composer and violinist Antônio Madureira began .

In 1992 he was commissioned by the city's cultural secretariat to compose an opera for the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America, which premiered in October of that year at the city opera. In 1993 he realized his multimedia project Nome with Paulo Tatit and Arnaldo Antunes .

As a consultant to the Cultural Secretariat of São Paulo, he realized the Orquestras , Corais , Bandas and Interior Acústico projects from 1993 to 1994 and prepared the Fórum da Música Independente in 1994. In 1995 he composed the ballet music Z for the Balé da Cidade de São Paulo together with Gilberto Gil and Carlinhos Brown . The following year the albums Mais simples were created with Zizi Possi and Romançário with Antônio Madureira. In the same year he also founded the label Pau Brasil, which published musicians from the contemporary Brazilian scene.

From 1996 to 1999 he directed the Orquestra Jazz Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo . In 1997 he produced the show Braguinha 90 anos in honor of the composer João de Barro . In the same year the internationally awarded album Todos os Sons with Marlui Miranda was created .
