Rogaland Radio

Rogaland Radio ( call sign : LGB, formerly LGQ) is a Norwegian coastal radio station and is operated by telenor . The station broadcasts from Sola commune . The head of the station is Alf Hindal.

In September 2003, Rogaland Radio and Redningsselskapet for southern Norway moved into a new building near Stavanger Airport , Sola. In March 2004, Bergen Radio ceased operations and handed over to Rogaland Radio .

Rogaland Radio's VHF relay service covers the Norwegian coast from Lindesnes in the south to Lindås near Bergen in the north. The 22 stations also cover the offshore platforms and oil and gas fields Valhall , Ekofisk , Draupner and Sleipner-A in the North Sea .

The three boundary wave systems are located in Bergen, Vigreskogen in Rogaland and in Farsund and cover the North Sea from the English Channel to Stadlandet , the fishing grounds of the North Sea, the Faroe Islands , Scotland and the seas west of Ireland.

Rogaland Radio broadcasts weather reports daily at 1215 UTC and 2315 UTC in Farsund on channel 291 and in Bergen on channel 272. The weather report at 2315 UTC can also be heard on the 1782 kHz USB and 1785 kHz USB. The station sends
NAVTEX warning messages on 518 kHz at 0150, 0550, 0950, 1350, 1750, 2150 UTC. Listening and conversations are maintained by the three border wave stations on a range of VHF, border and shortwave frequencies.
