Rogash is a Thuringian death metal band from Jena , which was founded in 2009.

history

The band was formed in winter 2009. The group took its name from the game The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth 2 . After the first local appearances, the first EP Rogan Era was released in 2010 . This enabled the band to increase its popularity. Over 60 performances were held over the next two years, with Rogash also appearing at the Chronical Moshers Open Air and the Hell Inside Festival . On January 17, 2014, War Anthem Records released their debut album Supremacy Undone , which was mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö . In the same year the group was represented at Party.San . In 2016, the second album Malevolence , which was also mixed and mastered by Swanö, followed. This includes a cover version of Sepulturas Refuse / Resist . The recordings for the album took place in the Eisensound Studio with the Deserted Fear guitarist Fabian Hildebrandt as producer.

style

In an interview with Andreas Schiffmann from Rock Hard , Erik Oßwald stated that the title of Malevolence refers to the malevolence that we encounter and that would control us. The song Daily Hate is about the new "generation of internet rambos who have an opinion on everything and who spend their free time arguing in the depths of the net", while None Shall Prevail deals with the topic of oligarchy . Sebastian Schilling had reviewed the album one issue earlier. The group then offers angry and variable- tempo Death Metal in the American style, which is partly reminiscent of the last two albums by God Dethroned . In addition, the group processed subtle melodies.
