Roger Liebi (politician)

Roger Liebi (born November 14, 1961 ) is a Swiss entrepreneur and politician ( SVP ). He became known as the President of the City of Zurich SVP.

Life

He began his professional banking career in 1981 at UBS , and later also worked for Credit Suisse and Nordea Bank . In 2017 he finally founded his own company. In 2018, the Zurich Cantonal Council elected him to the 13-member bank council of Zürcher Kantonalbank , and in 2019 he was elected to the 3-member, full-time board of directors.

In the 2002 elections Liebi was elected to the local council for District 3 . In this he chaired several commissions until he announced his resignation in 2017 for professional reasons. In addition to the municipal council, Liebi was also active in the cantonal council: he was elected for the first time in 2011, but he renounced this office in favor of the mandate in the council. Four years later he was re- elected to the Cantonal Council for the City of Zurich constituency II (districts 3 and 9 ), this time he accepted the election. During the three years that he held the office, he presided over the Commission on Economy and Expenditures. In June 2018 he also gave up this mandate in order to be able to continue his professional education.
