Roger Swinfen Eady, 3rd Baron Swinfen

Roger Mynors Swinfen Eady, 3rd Baron Swinfen (born December 14, 1938 ) is a British peer . He is one of the 90 hereditary peers in the House of Lords who remained there after the House of Lords Act 1999 was passed .

He is the son of Charles Swinfen Eady, 2nd Baron Swinfen and the author Mary Wesley . When his father died in 1977, he inherited his title. He attended Westminster School and then the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst . He then did his military service with the Royal Scots , where he achieved the rank of lieutenant .

Lord Swinfen is trustee and director of the Swinfen Charitable Trust with his wife . He has been a Fellow of the Industry and Parliament Trust (FIPT) since 1983 and patron of the Disablement Income Group (EFDS) since 1988 . He was also the patron of the animal welfare organization Labrador Rescue South East in 1996 . From 1983 to 1997 he was a member of the Professional Association of Direct Mail Services Standards Board . From 2001 to 2010 he was a fellow at the Center for Online Medicine at the University of Queensland . He is a guild member of the Worshipful Company of Drapers .

In 2016 he was also accepted as a member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) .

He has been married to Patricia Anne Blackmore since 1962. The Lord and Lady Swinfen have three daughters and one son: The Hon. Charles Eady (* 1971), the title heir ( Heir apparent ).
