Roger from Norman
Roger von Norman (born October 4, 1908 in Nevidzén , Austria-Hungary , † May 6, 2000 in Icking ; born Roger Graf Norman ) was a German film editor and film director .
After completing a commercial apprenticeship, he worked as a cutter at Tobis from 1930 . By 1938, Norman had cut about thirty films. On his debut as a director with Spiel im Sommerwind, he helped 16-year-old Hannelore Schroth achieve her breakthrough.
After that, Norman received, possibly because of his " non-Aryan " grandfather, only rarely directing orders. His film Moselfahrt mit Monika was banned from showing. Even after the end of the war it was hardly considered. His last directorial work, the documentary The Party Is Always Right , grappled with the SED . After that, Count Norman lived as a farmer and horse breeder in Upper Bavaria .
