Roger of Wendover

Roger (von) Wendover (* in Wendover , Buckinghamshire ; † May 6, 1236 ) was an English monk and chronicler in the Benedictine Abbey of St Albans .

From around 1204 (possibly later) Roger von Wendover wrote the world chronicle Flores Historiarum , which tries to depict the events from the creation of the world to the year 1234. The chronicle was continued from 1239 by Matthäus Paris as Chronica Major .
