history

Rohrbeck's traces can be traced back to the 14th century due to written mentioning in 1313 and 1375. Originally the settlement was under the rule of Spandau Castle, from 1403 the Benedictine monastery Spandau took control of the village. In 1558, in the age of the Reformation , the rule of the Benedictine monastery ended and the so-called Amt Spandau took over the rule, which was to last until 1872. In 1892 the village was expanded by the adjoining settlement "Neu-Döberitz" at the Dallgower train station, in 1919 and 1928 further incorporations took place, especially several surrounding estates (Buchow-Karpzow, Dyrotz and Ferbitz), which considerably expanded the municipality.

On July 1, 1950, Rohrbeck was finally incorporated into Dallgow-Döberitz.

Village structure and buildings

Rohrbeck is a classic street village . The village church stands on a hill at the intersection of the main and the main street, which towers over the village as an eye-catcher. On the western side of the street there are three and four-sided courtyards , on the eastern side of the street the original building structures are only incomplete.

In addition to the village church, special buildings are the former school building next to it, which today serves as the parish hall , and the former inn "Alter Olympischer Krug", which can still be recognized today by the Olympic rings above the door.

Parish

From the middle of the 13th century , Christian proselytizing was carried out in Havelland , starting from Spandau . The church in Rohrbeck was opened in the 14th / 15th centuries . It was built in Romanesque style in the 18th century from field stones. Epitaphs and corpse stones in the interior of the church can be dated back to 1585. The originally wooden church tower was replaced after a fire in 1590 in 1610 by today's half-timbered tower, which is clad by a stone facade.

In recent times the Rohrbeck parish has experienced a significant upswing in terms of membership numbers. With the arrival of young families from Berlin, the number of parishioners tripled from 1998 to 2010.
