Roland Carraz

Roland Carraz (born May 18, 1943 in Chalon-sur-Saône , Saône-et-Loire department ; † December 9, 1999 in Chenôve , Côte-d'Or department ) was a French politician of the Parti socialiste (PS) and later the Mouvement des citoyens (MDC), who was a member of the National Assembly (Assemblée nationale) and State Secretary.

Life

After attending school, Roland Carraz completed a history degree, which he completed in 1967, and was an assistant professor ( Maître de conférences ) at the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Burgundy in Dijon . On March 21, 1977 he became mayor of Chenôve for the first time and held this office after his re-elections on March 13, 1983, March 19, 1989 and June 18, 1995 until his death on December 9, 1999. In the parliamentary elections on June 21 In 1981 he was elected a member of the National Assembly (Assemblée nationale) for the PS for the first time and represented the Côte-d'Or department there until April 25, 1983.

He resigned his parliamentary mandate after being appointed State Secretary for Tourism in the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Secrétaire d'Etat auprès du ministre du commerce extérieur et du tourisme, chargé du tourisme) in the third cabinet of Mauroy on March 24, 1983 and held this office until July 17, 1984. On March 16, 1986 Carraz was re-elected to the PS as a member of the National Assembly and, after being re-elected in the parliamentary elections on June 5, 1988 between April 2, 1986 and April 1, 1993, he again represented the Côte-d 'department.
