Roland Fleck

Roland Fleck (born May 26, 1961 in Nuremberg ) is Managing Director of the Messe Nürnberg Group. He is also a member of the board of the world association of the trade fair industry "Union des Foires Internationales ( UFI )" (Paris), member of the board of AUMA (Exhibition and Trade Fair Committee of the German Industry) and member of the board of the Association of German Large Trade Fairs (GDG), Berlin. He also chairs the Board of Directors of NürnbergMesse China Co. Ltd. (Shanghai) as well as the Meeting of the Shareholders of NürnbergMesse Brasil Ltda. (São Paulo). He also has other positions on the Supervisory Board of Bayerische Landesbank and on the Board of Trustees of the Schöller Foundations.

Life

Fleck completed a degree in business administration in 1986 at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and obtained his doctorate in 1990. rer. pole. with the dissertation "Technology Policy in Bavaria, Germany and Europe". From 1993 to 1996 he was a member of the Nuremberg City Council, most recently deputy chairman of the CSU parliamentary group. 1986 to 1996 he was employed by HYPO-Bank AG, Munich, Berlin, London, Nuremberg, most recently as deputy. Department director in corporate banking at the Northern Bavaria branch. From 1996 to 2011 he was a professional city councilor and economic consultant for the city of Nuremberg.

In this context, Fleck was on the supervisory board of Flughafen Nürnberg GmbH , Hafen Nürnberg-Roth GmbH, NürnbergMesse GmbH, Städtische Werke Nürnberg GmbH and wbg Wohnungsbaugesellschaft mbH as well as a member of the “Committee for Economy and the European Internal Market” of the German Association of Cities, in the energy advisory board of the Bavarian State Government Board of Trustees of Bayern Innovativ GmbH, also Federal Chairman of the German Waterways and Shipping Association (DWSV) and deputy.
