Roland Hamm

Roland Hamm (born November 11, 1956 ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ) and trade union official of IG-Metall .

Life

Roland Hamm became union secretary at IG Metall Aalen in 1981 and has been its 1st authorized representative since 1989, and since 2008 also 1st authorized representative of IG Metall Schwäbisch Gmünd . He joined the SPD in 1976 and was a member of the SPD parliamentary group from 1994 to 2005 in the city council of Aalen. In 2003 he left the SPD and in 2004 acted as the founding coordinator of the WASG in Baden-Württemberg .

The following year he was a member of the Bundestag for Die Linke in the Aalen constituency, and in 2006 he was a candidate for the WASG in the Landtag. From 2007 to 2009 Hamm was district chairman of the party Die Linke in the Eastern Alb area .

He was elected to the Aalen City Council in 2009, 2014 and 2019 and is the parliamentary group leader of Die Linke./pro Aalen .

In the constituency of Aalen, Hamm was a candidate for the state parliament and the top candidate for Die Linke in both 2011 and 2016 . Baden-Württemberg . Hamm accompanies a number of voluntary activities, including a. as 2nd board member of the Aalen Art Association .
