Ela is a German rock band .

history

After the dissolution of Com'n'Rail in 2006 by Michaela "Ela" Eichhorn, she founded the band Ela.

In a first collaboration with Martin Engler of Mono Inc. albums emerged Passion and Make My Day . The single releases After the Rain , Out of Time and Bleed achieved respectable success on various online portals. In 2010 Michaela Eichhorn founded the "Rock and Racing Team" EBC Roxx together with Ritchie Blackmore's son Jürgen Richard Blackmore and Tony Carey , with which separate publications appeared.

The 2015 album Nervous Breakdown was produced by Jörg Uken (soundlodge) and mixed by Sascha Paeth ( Avantasia , Beyond The Black , Edguy ). In the same year Ralf Stoney (ex- Stormwitch ) joined the band as guitarist.

The post of drummer, long occupied by live and session musicians, was first filled by Manuel Stahl and later by Micha Kasper (ex- Glenmore , Stormwitch).

Beginning in February 2016 the band recorded in The Red Room Studio by Andy Horn EP Out of this World on. In April 2016 she started a tour through Germany and the Czech Republic. At the same time, the band switched from Borila Rekords to Massacre Records in 2016 .

In August 2016 Quentin Compson (Ex- Stormwitch ) replaced Axel Mackenrott on the keyboard. With Dean DiXon, a new second voice was signed for the backing vocals in January 2017. In April 2017 the band separated from Compson and DiXon.

In the following months, recordings were made with Andy Horn in The Red Room Studio for the album Second Reality , which was released in September 2017 via Massacre Records and was in the German rock and metal charts for weeks.

Ela then went on tour in Germany as a support act for Grave Digger . After this tour, bassist Chris Kolb also left the band and was replaced by the Reutlingen ex-Manila-Motel / Noplies bassist Marco Tardanico.

In 2018 Johannes Göring replaced Ralf Stoney on guitar.

In 2019 Matthias Coconcelli (Ex Manila Motel) took over the position of drummer and Andreas Augat (Ex Larceny) joined the band as the second guitarist.

style

The first publications were mainly attributed to pop music by reviewers. The proportion of rock music increased as early as the EP Out of Time . The second studio album, Make My Day , was rated by reviewers as being a part of modern hard rock . The group was compared to Bonfire , Doro Pesch and Mother's Finest as well as Shania Twain , Bonnie Tyler and Chris Norman . With the EP Out of this World the style changed again and took up parts of symphonic metal , especially in guitar riffing . The band had influences from Nightwish and Lacuna Coil , according to Heavy Metal Heaven on Out of This World .
