Roland Kosien

Roland Kosien (born September 25, 1953 ) is a former German soccer player .

He played in the Bundesliga as a young striker for FC Schalke 04 . Kosien made his Bundesliga debut on September 30, 1972 in the away game in Bochum (0-2) when he came on for Hartmut Huhse . After only two missions in the 1972/73 season , he moved to the amateur camp at Westfalia Herne , SpVgg Erkenschwick and later Rot-Weiß Lüdenscheid . With the DSC Wanne-Eickel , he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1978 and experienced his strongest period in the following two years. He scored 26 goals in 67 second division games. After the withdrawal of the DSC in 1980, Roland Kosien moved to Hannover 96 , where he played another 33 games (one goal) over the next two years. In the 1982/83 season he played in the Oberliga Nordrhein for 1. FC Bocholt , but after disagreements with coach Rolf Müller he left the club before the end of the season.

After his playing career, Roland Kosien worked as a trainer for amateur clubs in Lower Saxony. a. ASC Nienburg and TuS Wettbergen .
