Roland Suessmuth
Roland Franzberth Süßmuth (born April 16, 1934 in Mittelsteine , Glatz district , Lower Silesia Province ) is a German micro and molecular biologist .
Life
Roland Süßmuth in 1969 at the University of Tuebingen for Dr. rer. nat. PhD. In 1980 he completed his habilitation at the University of Hohenheim , where he was appointed professor of micro and molecular biology in 1986 and appointed head of the institute for microbiology. Among other things, he developed the Hohenheim STAR process for biological nitrate elimination in a groundwater circulation well.
Süßmuth is chairman of the initiative group of Catholic laypeople and priests in the diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart . In addition, he became known as the editor of an anthology on the subject of contraception , to which 40 authors from both denominations contributed in 46 articles and which has been published by a renowned Catholic and Evangelical publishing house.
Süßmuth is a full professor at the private Gustav Siewerth Academy and head of the Department of Philosophy and Philosophy of Natural Sciences. He is also a member of the Senate.
Among other things, Süßmuth is committed to the Stuttgart congregation of the St. Petrus Society .
