Roland Schwegler (born February 3, 1982 in Römerswil ) is a former Swiss football player and today's coach .

Career as a player

Roland Schwegler played as a junior at FC Hochdorf for eight years before moving to the record champions Grasshopper Club Zurich at the age of 15 . From the 2000/01 season he played regularly in the first team before sustaining a long-term injury in 2004. With the Grasshopper Club Zurich he was Swiss champion twice.

In June 2007 the defender signed a contract with FC Luzern , with which he only managed to keep the league in the 2008/09 barrage games against FC Lugano . Schwegler also received regular assignments at Lucerne.

After three years at FC Luzern , he moved to FC Vaduz in 2010 , where he ended his playing career in summer 2012.

National team

Schwegler completed various international junior matches for Switzerland.

Career as a coach

Schwegler coached FC Linth 04 between July 2014 and June 2019 , with whom he was promoted from the 2nd Interregional league to the 1st league in the 2017/2018 season . From July 2019 he will take over the coaching position at SC Cham in the Promotion League
