Roland Tauber
Roland Tauber (* 1939 in Aussig ) is a German doctor and the developer of antegrade scrotal sclerotherapy , which is known as the "Tauber method" in connection with the treatment of varicocele .
Tauber studied medicine in Munich , became a surgeon in Marburg , worked as a urologist in Munich and became a senior physician in Großhadern . From 1988 to 2005 Tauber was chief physician at the Barmbek General Hospital in Hamburg. Since September 1, 2005 he has been the chief physician of the urological department at the Asklepios Klinik St. Georg in Hamburg.
In his work he deals with tumor surgery and andrology . In 1993 the German Society for Urology recommended the method of "Antegrade Scrotal Sclerotherapy" as a therapy of first choice. In 2005 he received the prize of the President of the German Society for Urology for his life's work.
