Rolf Basten

Rolf Basten (* 1951 ) is a German harpsichordist and music consultant.

After the conclusion of a church music studies Rolf Basten received his diploma in Artistic State Historical Keyboard Instruments "with distinction", as well as the master class diploma at the Music Academy in Munich , Stuttgart Music Academy and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Rolf Basten was a student of harpsichordist Hedwig Bilgram and from 1983 to 1987 a student of Kenneth Gilbert .

His occupation with the fortepiano and his interest in pre-classical sonatas after Domenico Scarlatti and before Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart began early on . Rolf Basten lives in Munich . He gives concerts at home and abroad and made numerous radio and television recordings.

During the master class with Kenneth Gilbert at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Rolf Basten carried out research on the impact of social and intellectual developments on the phenomena of the fine arts of all epochs.
