Rolf Bergmeier (Author)

Rolf Bergmeier (* 1940 in Oberhausen ) is an author critical of the church .

Life

Bergmeier was initially a soldier in the German Armed Forces and also worked in NATO contexts. In 1989 he retired from the armed forces with the military rank of colonel . He studied information technology at the Society for Mathematics and Data Processing and then worked as a systems analyst in industry.

From 2004 to 2008 he studied ancient history and philosophy at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz . He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Giordano Bruno Foundation .

Bergmeier deals with late antiquity and the early Middle Ages in his books. In it he criticizes the term “Christian-Occidental culture”. His works have so far been noticed outside of specialist publications.

He is married with two children and describes himself as an agnostic .
