Marie Risby (born April 20, 1955 in Ludvika ; born Marie Johansson) is a former Swedish cross-country skier .
Career
Risby reached the 21st place over 10 km and fourth place with the relay at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 1978 , she finished fourth with the relay. Her best placings at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid were eleventh place over 5 km and sixth place with the relay. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1985 in Seefeld , she achieved sixth place over 20 km classic and tenth place over 10 km freestyle. At the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo , she reached fourth place over 5 km freestyle, fifth place with the relay and over 20 km classic and sixth place over 10 km classic. She was able to win a world cup race in the cross-country skiing world cup . Her best overall World Cup placement was sixth in the 1983/84 season . She won gold eleven times at Swedish championships.
Marie Risby is not identical to the former Swedish cross-country skier Marie Johansson (born June 30, 1963 in Furudal ), who later married the successful cross-country skier Gunde Svan , but kept her maiden name.
