Rolf Beyer (born November 26, 1971 ) is a German basketball official .

Life

Beyer passed his Abitur in 1991 in Lindenberg im Allgäu and studied business administration at the Otto Friedrich University in Bamberg until 1997 . From December 1997 he worked in the logistics department for Brose Fahrzeugteile GmbH & Co. KG in Hallstadt and from 2001 headed the “window regulator assembly” department. From August 2005 he was part of the commercial management of the company and held the office of authorized signatory.

On July 1, 2014, Beyer took up the post of managing director of Bamberger Basketball GmbH, the operator of the basketball Bundesliga team Brose Bamberg as successor to Wolfgang Heyder , after having previously worked for the predecessor GmbH "Franken 1st GmbH" on commercial and at organizational level and had become Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board in November 2013. From October 2015 to July 2017 he was also Managing Director of Baunacher Sport und Event GmbH. On January 1, 2015, Beyer also became the second chairman of “brosebaskets eV”. From July 2015 to July 2018 he was a member of the Presidium of the Basketball Bundesliga Working Group.

In September 2018, Brose Bamberg announced that Beyer would leave office as managing director of Bamberger Basketball GmbH at the end of 2018. At the end of November 2018, Beyer and Bamberger Basketball GmbH were immediately separated. "The reason was financial irregularities," said Brose Bamberg's communication. Michael Stoschek , chairman of the supervisory board of the operating company, was quoted in a further report on Brose Bamberg's website with the following words: “I have personally worked very well and trustingly with Rolf Beyer for many years. All the more I regret his serious management mistakes, which forced us to take these consequences. ”During Beyer's tenure as managing director, Brose Bamberg's 2015, 2016 and 2017 championship titles fell, as did the 2017 cup. At the end of March 2019, Brose Bamberg announced that it would take recourse against Beyer after the team's operating company was fined 40,000 euros by the Bundesliga basketball league for "incorrect information about commitments entered into and lack of information about the financial situation". After leaving Brose Bamberg, Beyer was employed in the management of a Scheßlitz company that manufactures natural plant-based products.
