Rolf Hübler (born May 31, 1956 in Waldkirchen ; † January 14, 2013 there ) was a German enduro athlete .

During his career he was European champion in 1984 and 1985 . He also won five national titles.

Athletic career

In 1974, Rolf Hübler began enduro racing at the GST of the Zschopau motorcycle factory with the support of his brother Walter . In the ID class up to 250 cm³ of the GDR championship, the trained agricultural technician immediately took second place. Just one year later, Rolf was GDR runner-up in the 125 license class.

After serving in the army, he was appointed to the Simson Suhl factory team in 1977 . In 1978 he made his first international six-day race . After a third and second place in the two previous years, Rolf was GDR champion for the first time in 1980 . As a member of the trophy team, he was third in the team world championship in 1981 . During the next Six Days he won the class classification up to 125 cm³ on his Simson, and one year later he won the factory team. In 1984 and 1985 he again took third place in the team world championship with the trophy sextet.

In 1979 and 1983 Rolf Hübler won bronze at the European Championships. His greatest successes came in the two following years. In 1984 as well as 1985 he was superior European champion in the class up to 125 cm³. In 1986 he came third again.

1983 to 1986 Rolf was GDR champion in the eight-liter class without interruption.

After the 1986 final, he hung his helmet on the famous nail. In 13 active years he developed into one of the best international enduro riders. At the end of his career, Rolf returned to his home in the Ore Mountains and made his experience available to the motorcycle factory in Zschopau as a test driver.
