Rolf Lüken

Rolf Lüken (born March 10, 1938 ; † January 15, 2019 ) was a German police officer and from 1989 to 2001 the chief of police in Bremen .

biography

Lüken began his training for the police service at the age of 18 in 1956, and in 1960 he was transferred to the Bremerhaven local police force. He returned to Bremen in 1971 and was employed as head of what was then the East Police Section from 1972 to 1974, before taking over the management of the police enforcement department in the Interior Authority in 1981. He held this office until his appointment as police chief in 1989.

Lüken asked the then Interior Senator, Dr. Bernt Schulte , on March 13, 2001, about early retirement . He left the agency on August 31, 2001 after almost 45 years of service at the age of 63. His successor in the office of police chief was his previous deputy, Eckard Mordhorst .
