Rolf Martin Schmitz (born June 17, 1957 in Mönchengladbach ) is a German manager and has been CEO of RWE AG since October 1, 2016 .

From 1976 to 1981 he studied engineering at RWTH Aachen University and received his doctorate in 1985 from the chair for heat transfer and air conditioning technology there .

Rolf Martin Schmitz has been CEO of RWE AG since October 2016.
