Rolf Piehler (* 1928 ) is a former German football player who was active in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of GDR football, in the 1950s for BSG Einheit Ost Leipzig and SC Rotation Leipzig .

Athletic career

In the 1953/54 season, Rolf Piehler appeared for the first time in GDR-wide football matches. For the upper league promoted unit East Leipzig, he played, mainly used in defense, 17 point games. He was used from the fifth league game on after several regular defenders had failed. In the second league season of the company sports community (BSG) Einheit Ost, whose soccer section was taken over by the newly founded Rotation Leipzig sports club in November 1954, Piehler was only a permanent reserve. He was only called up as a substitute in three point games before the takeover. When 13 games were played in the league in the fall of 1955 to switch from the summer-spring game rhythm to the calendar season, Piehler came to another three missions as a defender, twice from the start, one game again as a substitute. After a total of 23 games in the GDR major league without a goal, Rolf Piehler disappeared again from the higher football leagues.
