Rolf Tarrach Seal

Rolf Tarrach Siegel (* 1948 in Valencia ) is a Spanish physicist and university professor .

Life

Tarrach received his PhD from the University of Barcelona and was Professor of Theoretical Physics at the Universities of Barcelona and Valencia. His areas of work include quantum field theory , particle physics and quantum mechanics .

Tarrach is also active in the science and research organization. First he was president of the Spanish research council Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas from 2000 to 2003 and from 2005 rector of the University of Luxembourg . He has been President of the European University Association since 2015 .

In the 2019 European elections , he ran as the top candidate for the Volt party in Luxembourg . He received 2.1 percent of the vote (5,689 votes) and did not move in.
