Rolf W. Castle
Rolf Walter Schloss (born July 5, 1918 Frankfurt am Main ; † February 10, 1979 Saint-Cergue ) was a German-Israeli journalist and author.
Life
After the occupation of Vichy France, Schloss had crossed the border to Switzerland in September 1942 and reported as a refugee in Geneva. He was initially interned in the Au Bout du monde stadium and later in a barracks camp in Valais. In 1945 he immigrated to Palestine . In the early 1960s he was head of the Spiegel editorial team in Jerusalem; from 1965 to 1978 he was ARD correspondent for the Middle East . He has also published several books as an author and editor.
